At YardSteel Australia, we’re committed to providing high-quality steel edging and garden products that meet your expectations. This Returns & Refund Policy outlines your rights and our obligations under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL).

1. Your Rights Under Australian Consumer Law

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to:

  • A replacement or refund for a major failure.
  • Compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.
  • A repair or replacement if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

These rights apply in addition to any warranty or policy offered by YardSteel.

2. Change of Mind Returns

We understand that sometimes you may change your mind. While we do not automatically offer refunds for change-of-mind purchases, we may accept a return at our discretion if:

  • The item is in unused, original condition.
  • The product is returned within 14 days of delivery.
  • The product has not been installed, cut, or modified in any way.
  • All original packaging and components are intact.

If a change-of-mind return is accepted:

  • Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer.
  • A restocking fee of 2% of the purchase value + $24.95 may apply to cover handling and re-packing costs.

3. Damaged or Faulty Products

We take great care to ensure your order arrives safely. If your product arrives damaged, faulty, or is not as described, please contact us as soon as possible with the following details:

  • Your order number
  • Photos of the product and packaging
  • A description of the issue

We’ll work quickly to resolve the issue, which may include:

  • Sending a replacement item
  • Arranging a repair
  • Providing a full or partial refund (depending on the circumstances)

4. How to Request a Return

To initiate a return, please contact our customer service team first to receive instructions:

Do not send products back to us without approval, as we may not be able to process your return.

5. Return Shipping

Unless otherwise agreed, customers are responsible for the cost of returning items. We recommend using a tracked courier service to ensure safe delivery of your return. YardSteel is not responsible for returned items lost in transit.

6. Refund Processing

Once your return is received and inspected, we’ll notify you by email that we’ve received your returned item and whether your refund has been approved or rejected.

If approved, refunds will be processed within 5–10 business days to your original payment method. Please note that some payment providers may take additional time to display the refund in your account.

7. Exclusions

The following items cannot be returned unless faulty:

  • Custom-cut, special-order, or made-to-measure steel products
  • Items that have been used, installed, or modified
  • Sale or clearance items (unless they are faulty or damaged)

8. Warranty

Our products are built to last, and we back them with the following warranties:

  • Corten Steel Range: 10-year structural warranty
  • Galvanised Steel Range: 10-year structural warranty
  • Plastic Range: 1-year warranty

These warranties cover defects in materials or workmanship under normal domestic use. They do not cover damage caused by incorrect installation, misuse, modification, or natural surface weathering on Corten steel.

This warranty is provided in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
